Existing mudroom felt dark and under utilized. It also had a feeling of disconnect to the rest of the house as one entered.
The existing kitchen and living room also felt disconnected with a nondescript circulation wasted space that was not large enough for any purposeful use. Working with the client to understand what worked and what did not, we eventually came up with a solution that still retained the mudroom function by the entrance while enabling a visual connection and improved flow between the front, living room and kitchen while creating a gathering informal dining space.
